AT ST. ALOYSIUS

ACTS OF THE APOSTLES with Fr Barnabas

Given the fact that many Parishioners are still attending my classes, I have decided I will yet again offer another class this winter. I will continue offering classes until there is a revolt or everyone stops showing up.

In this class we will look at the world Christians found themselves in during the Church’s first century I will focus primarily on what life was like for the earliest Christians in Rome. In the class we will dive into a number of interesting questions such as; Who founded the Church in Rome? Many people believe it was Saint Peter, yet Paul says the founder of the Church in Rome is unknown. Why did the Emperor Claudius expel the Christians from Rome? Why doesn’t Luke in his book of Acts not tell us anything about the death of St. Paul, but simply ends the book of Acts with Paul in prison?

The primary text for the class will be “Acts of the Apostles”
